The girls nude photo epidemic

In this article they talked about how a girl sent a naked picture of herself to her boyfriend at the time because they supposedly were really starting to like each other, even though they were in eighth grade. So she sent the picture and they broke up some two weeks after and the picture was forwarded from the old boyfriend to another girl. The message then continued to spread on and the whole school eventually was looking at the picture. She was humiliated just because of one picture and then the kids were all in trouble with the law herself included and the kids who decided to spread around the message. I think that this is just ridiculous to be sending nude pictures like this especially at such a young age, if your going to get naked, just do it in person like honestly.

Camera Techniques in the Video

After watching the video, the camera techniques that I liked were the angled ones of the employees doing pilates and the short little clips of them working.

“After losing nine seniors from last year, we had to fill their shoes with underclassmen and have had a lot of juniors step up this year.”

With a lot of talent and athleticism, the girls’ basketball team has managed to work hard in the off season and achieve a solid team.

“When one of our captains/my sister tore her ACL, our team really had to adjust and other people needed to step up.”

The team was devastated with the injury and loss to captain Amanda Beckman after doing so well in the first eight games, scoring an undefeated record of 8-0. The team had troubles trying to adjust with the newest changes and went on to lose the next two games.

“We stayed strong and kept our focus to begin winning again after losing”

The team then went on to finish the regular season with a record of 20-6, getting second place in the South Suburban Conference and had high hopes of making their way to the state championship.

“Our goal for the rest of the season is to beat Lakeville North in the section championship game and make it to state.”

Goose

For reading time today, we saw and read about a goose that has a unique relationship with an old man. Every morning the goose waits for him to come back on his scooter and follows him around like they are true pals. If another goose tries to come close to him or even another animal the goose will get mad and scare off the other animal. To go home at night, since he does not want to bring the goose home with him, he usually has someone lock the goose in a cage long enough for him to get away or will just sit at a bench and wait for the goose to fall asleep.

Fire in Rural Pennsylvania Farmhouse Kills 7 Children

A Mom was milking cows and the father was dozing off in a milk truck, while seven of their children died. One of the 3 year old kids smelled smoke, and ran to alert the mother in which she tried getting into the house but failed. She then ran to two other neighbors houses to try and call 911. Afterwords she ran to the milk truck to tell her husband that the house was on fire, but once they managed to get inside the house, seven of their children died. Most likely from smoke inhalation.

Gates: US should stay in Afghanistan past 2014

In this article they are basically talking about how both the US Government and Afghan Governments both agreed on not pulling the troops out of Afghanistan at the regular 2014 date and extending it to a further, unreleased date. They want to do this to train and advise the future Afghanistan military. I think that this is unnecesary and they should start pulling the troops out of there immediately and we should start worrying about ourselves more.

High School Basketball Star Dies on Court From Enlarged Heart

At a Michigan high school basketball game, during overtime Wes Leonard hit the game winning overtime shot to clinch the school to a perfect season. Shortly after he hit the game winning shot he collapsed. Later he was pronounced dead due to the collapse because he had an enlarged heart which led to cardiac arrest.
My reaction to this is this is insane. Having all these event trigger at one time is so rare to occur and tragic.

The Interview

Five Things I learned:

1. You need to find something that you really want to find out and the people of whom you are writing to want to find out and stick to that target
2. Prepare Questions before the interview
3. Use open-ended, or green questions
4. Don't use overly complicated words when asking questions
5. On the record means you can use the information the interviewee gave you, off the record means you cannot use the information and Not for attribution means you can use the information but just don't label who the information came from.

Is Harsh Judgment of Charlie Sheen Just Evidence of a Hollywood Double Standard?

In this article, they are talking about how Charlie Sheen may be taking too much criticism from people that are looking out for him as a Hollywood Star. They compare Charlie Sheen to rockstars, Steven Tyler and Keith Richards because they were also hardcore partiers and had kids of their own, like Sheen. They article asks the question on why people are talking so much about Sheen and not these rockstars who have done similar things as Sheen.
My reaction to this article is that I sort of agree with it. I mean being a Hollywood star and doing things like this is very common between the stars. I feel the only reason they're criticising him so much is because of his interviews.
